Health Education

Health Education

A structured Health Education program is implemented weekly across all grades as part of the Primary School's timetable. Its design is based on international Health Education protocols and targets four main areas: a) self-development and empowerment, b) formation and cultivation of the social self, c) promotion of a healthy and safe lifestyle, and d) the creation of active citizens. The program cultivates skills, provides knowledge, prioritizes values, and shapes beliefs and attitudes. The long-term goal is to foster character development, self-awareness, critical and creative thinking, and social knowledge and consciousness. Through experiential activities, role-playing, group work, debates, discussions on daily life, hypothetical scenarios, and literary texts, students actively engage and practice skills such as communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution. They also become sensitized to topics like self-care and protection, transitioning to adolescence and emotional management of changes, the value of coexistence, boundaries, rights and responsibilities in relationships, stereotypes, acceptance of diversity and mutual respect, personal and collective responsibility for their physical and social environment, the importance of balanced nutrition for physical and mental health, and responsibility in various forms of physical or online communication.

This program is linked to Peer Mediation, implemented in 5th and 6th Grade, the Global Studies course, and the Healthy Nutrition program.
