Kindergarten and Elementary School Libraries

Do you enjoy browsing through the shelves of a colorful library to find the book that suits you? How about sitting comfortably to enjoy your favorite book? Would you like to use tablets to read an e-book or an article? Do you want to search reliable sources for information for your project? Do you like listening to books or creating your favorite music? Do you want to meet with your friends to discuss a project, play board games, or engage in online educational games? Would you like to meet authors and illustrators and talk to them?

If yes, you’re in the right place! The Kindergarten and Elementary School Libraries at Pierce provide a creative space designed to foster imagination, develop skills, and express children’s emotions. Above all, they offer an inclusive space that respects the needs and wishes of children while providing the tools to fulfill them.

The Library is a space where children can engage with books, enrich their vocabulary, and gradually familiarize themselves with different forms of expression, aiming to create messages and communicate. Information literacy lessons tailored for each age group are implemented in the Library, based on projects aligned with their thematic units, aiming to develop students’ research skills and project implementation stages.

Our School at the East Campus offers a well-stocked lending library with books carefully selected for each age group and theme, evaluated for their appropriateness. This allows all children to borrow books regularly, which they can then discuss and process in various ways with their teachers and classmates in class. Additionally, students can borrow books related to their research interests from the Middle and Lyceum Libraries, while teachers have access to all libraries, including the Deree and Alba Libraries.

The Kindergarten and Elementary School Libraries serve as meeting points for the educational community, aiming to cultivate, develop, and highlight a love for books and reading, research skills, teamwork, and collaboration among students.
