Cooking Lab
The School's Cooking Labs regularly host children from all grade levels. The goals of the activities extend beyond learning cooking skills to cultivating skills and attitudes related to sustainability and adopting a healthy lifestyle. Children learn basic and advanced cooking techniques by preparing meals. They practically understand the importance of balanced nutrition and nutrients and are taught in a playful way how to create healthy meals that promote physical and mental health. Naturally, they gradually recognize the importance of proper hygiene in the kitchen and safety rules, try dishes from different cuisines, are encouraged to experiment with ingredients and recipes, and simultaneously understand the importance of sustainable cooking (reducing waste, utilizing local/seasonal ingredients, recycling). Authentic fields of engagement include connecting activities in the Cooking Lab with the School's Vegetable Garden and the produce grown by the children, as well as with social awareness initiatives (Bazaar, Bake it Happen, Cook 'n Care).
