Philanagnosia (Love of Reading)
The philanagnosia activities are coordinated by the School Library and implemented in collaboration with all class teachers and instructors of other subjects. The goal is to systematically expose children to activities, experiential workshops, and experiences related to books and reading, enabling them to gradually understand and love the world of books and the limitless learning opportunities they offer. Beyond borrowing books and linking them to other academic subjects in each class, workshops, art activities, and author visits are organized. Additionally, information literacy programs are designed and implemented by the Library Coordinator in collaboration with teachers, introducing children to the basics of research through workshops on searching and evaluating information, creating conceptual maps, and extracting targeted information from printed and digital sources. Through these activities, children produce work and knowledge, becoming active citizens and conveyors of information, taking their first steps into civil society. Younger students engage in story-creation workshops aimed at developing their imagination and fostering written and oral expression.
