Pierce students Dimitrios Balsis (C’ Lyceum), Despina Zafeiropoulou (c’ Gymnasium), and Georgios Ieromonachos (c’ Gymnasium) won the 3rd Prize at the 42nd National Mathematical Olympiad “Archimedes” of the Hellenic Mathematical Society!
This school year, more students than ever before from Pierce qualified for the first two phases of the competition, an outstanding achievement largely due to the work of the Mathematics Academies:
- 90 students (Thales - 1st phase), from b’ Gymnasium to C’ Lyceum
- 28 students (Euclid - 2nd phase), from b’ Gymnasium to C’ Lyceum
The institution of the Mathematics Academies was established at our school ten years ago with the aim of promoting mathematical education and engaging students with high-level topics. The Academy students prepare for the competitions of the Hellenic Mathematical Society, culminating in this year’s remarkable success of three Pierce students qualifying for the final phase, the National Mathematical Olympiad!
