Pierce Sophomore Konstantinos Psomiadis Qualifies for the International Linguistics Olympiad

Konstantinos Psomiadis, a B Lyceum student at Pierce, placed 4th nationwide in the 2nd Panhellenic Student Linguistics Olympiad, held at the School of Philosophy of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). As a result of his outstanding performance, he has been selected to represent Greece at the 23rd International Linguistics Olympiad, which will take place in Bucharest, Romania, from July 26 to August 2, 2026.

Konstantinos excelled in the competition, demonstrating exceptional analytical thinking and linguistic aptitude. He was honored during a special awards ceremony held at the NKUA campus.

Congratulations to Konstantinos on his hard work, his enthusiasm for linguistics, and his outstanding achievement. We also extend our congratulations to Maria Eleni Pliakostamou, instructor at the Academy of Modern Greek Language, for her guidance and support throughout his preparation.

It is also worth noting that the idea of establishing the Student Linguistics Olympiad originated with Pierce student Marianna Argeiti.
