Pierce – The American College of Greece, in collaboration with The National Hellenic Research Foundation (NHRF), is launching an innovative educational experience called the Future Skills Academy, aimed at developing skills in children aged 11-13 for the world of 2050.
Genetics, biology, personalized treatments, Artificial Intelligence, algorithm construction and Robotics, cyber security, VR & AR content are just some of the fields that Pierce students will explore, discovering a whole new world of Science, Technology, and Applications!
Classes will be held on the Agia Paraskevi Campus, with one lesson per thematic unit to be held at the National Hellenic Research Foundation. The units are as follows:
- Health & Biotechnology
- Environmental & Sustainability Sciences
- Artificial Intelligence & Ethics Understanding
- Interdisciplinary STEM Integration
- Digital & Media Literacy – Virtual Reality (VR) & Augmented Reality (AR)
Students of the Academy will explore the world of artificial intelligence and nanotechnology, their capabilities and limitations, as well as their applications in our lives in fields such as healthcare, law, and economics. They will also build and program simple robots to perform specific tasks and seek solutions to everyday problems, such as water purification, the improvement of energy-efficient materials, etc. Finally, they will learn to use new digital communication media and virtual and augmented reality and discover how to apply these technologies in fields such as education, entertainment, and healthcare.
