Administrative Justice meets the Youth of Pierce!

28 April 2026

On Monday, April 20, 2026, members of the Lyceum club “Protagoras – Mock Trials,” Maria Chrysovalantou Theodora, Maria Aikaterini Katsika, Tsampika Theodora Koutounidi, Michael Nathanail, and Christianna Papaioannou, took part in the educational administrative trial simulation “MOOT COURT DPA 2026,” held at the Administrative Court of First Instance of Athens.

The remaining members of the Club, together with the Club’s advisor, Ms. Maria Lada, attended the mock trial.

The event took place from April 20 to 22, 2026, and focused on the central theme “Youth and the Environment.” The initiative was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports, and was organized by the Administrative Court of First Instance of Athens.

During the preliminary stage, schools were required to prepare and submit legal memoranda on the topic. A total of 60 schools participated in the preliminary round, with the 16 highest-scoring teams advancing.

The participating students had the opportunity to experience judicial proceedings firsthand, assuming the roles of litigants and presenting arguments on the topic, thereby developing critical thinking, research skills, collaboration, and teamwork.

As part of the club’s activities, a series of meetings was held with lawyers, who are also parents of students at our school:

  • On Wednesday, April 1, lawyer Ms. Stamou presented the institution of administrative justice, helping students understand its function and discuss real issues that arise in administrative trials. With her experience and engaging approach, she highlighted the particularities of administrative law and encouraged students to ask questions, think critically, and approach legal studies with genuine interest.
  • On Wednesday, March 18, judge Ms. Florou spoke with the students and informed them about aspects of legal practice, discussing contemporary issues and analyzing examples from the daily life of the legal profession. She shared valuable knowledge and experience, contributing to a deeper understanding of key legal concepts and encouraging participation and dialogue.
