Today was a significant day as our students celebrated the October 28th anniversary. Emphasizing the importance of peace over the harshness of war, we focused on the value of freedom and the courage to say "no" when needed, standing up for what we believe in. Together with the children, we explored this monumental day in our country’s history by discussing how the staff of the National Archaeological Museum of Athens protected Greece’s cultural treasures during the outbreak of the war. Statues, vases, and other priceless artifacts were carefully hidden underground until peace returned.
Inspired by this story, the children shared their thoughts, ideas, and feelings about their own treasures. They then created two unique sculptures—one three-dimensional piece made of cardboard and another crafted from clay—which they hid around the school.
On the day of the celebration, the children proudly showcased their sculptures to their classmates, and we all sang together. The event concluded with a parade, where the children marched with their handmade flags, radiating pride and joy.
