As part of the Arkki workshop, Kindergarten students studied the façades of ancient temples, exploring the history of different peoples, their traditions, the concept of symmetry, as well as the structural and decorative details of these buildings. They then created their own clay façades of ancient Greek temples, while simultaneously learning about the architectural components and the terminology associated with them. Special emphasis was placed on selecting colors that corresponded to those used in ancient Greek temples. The aim of the lesson was to introduce students to ancient Greek temples—their form, style, and architectural rhythm—by reconstructing their façades, as well as to explore how early civilizations produced and used color.
