Top Rankings for Pierce Students at the 6th Economics Olympiad

Pierce students Stefanos Christos Georgitsis and Sokratis Mallios placed 10th and 11th, respectively, in the National Final of the 6th Economics Olympiad. In addition to the two award-winning students, Dimitrios Papasotiriou also qualified for the national final.

All three students are members of the Academy of Economics, under the guidance of Economics teacher Ilias Minas.

The National Final was held on Saturday, June 27, and was organized by the Institute of Fiscal and Economic Studies (IFES), with the support of the Bank of Greece and the Ministry of Education. A total of 4,400 students from 250 schools across Greece participated in the competition, with 61 students advancing to the National Final.

During the awards ceremony, Pierce received the "Financial Literacy Promotion Award" in recognition of its commitment to advancing financial literacy. Mr. Minas also serves as a member of the Olympiad's Scientific Committee.
