2021 Pierce Summer Camp
Although we were looking forward to Summer Camp 2021, and worked hard to organize it, unfortunately we have to cancel it.
We have had to make this difficult decision because there has not yet been an official announcement by the Greek government regarding operation, and the current situation regarding Covid-19 is such that the operation of a safe and fun Summer Camp is not possible at this time.
Thank you for your interest and love for our Summer Camp. We hope to meet again in the summer of 2022 at the Summer Camp we have all missed so much!
Until then, stay safe and well!
2020 Pierce Summer Camp
Dear parents and children,
Hope all is well with you and your families after the unprecedented situation we have all experienced and gradually overcoming by following the measures announced.
Regarding the “2020 Pierce Summer Camp”, and after taken into consideration the current conditions, we have made the difficult decision to cancel it since we would not be able to offer the same unforgettable experience as we are doing from 1987!
We look forward to return next summer for the “2021 Summer Camp” and five amazing weeks!
Until then, be well, healthy, and stay safe!

1987 – 2019 / 32 Years Summer Camp!

The American College of Greece has a long tradition of excellence in the field of education in Greece. The Summer Camp, offered by the Deree College Athletic Club, is a part of this tradition and has provided an unparalleled experience for thousands of children; an experience which stems from a rich and balanced athletic, educational, and cultural program, which actively supports the philosophy of Pierce, inspired by the ancient Greek dictum “A Sound Mind in a Sound Body”.
The Summer Camp aims to develop the athletic and artistic skills of children 6-14 years old who want to spend their time creatively after the school year has ended. The children are divided into groups according to their age and knowledge level. The program is primarily in Greek but the English language is also used by the instructors.
Summer Camp activities take place on the ACG campus. The athletic facilities of The American College of Greece are of international standard and scope. They include a 50-meter Olympic sized pool, four indoor basketball courts, six tennis courts, three dance studios, a 6-lane track, outdoor basketball and volleyball courts and a FIFA certified organic synthetic soccer field. The classrooms include PC labs, arts room, kitchen and theater.
The Summer Camp is staffed by highly professional and experienced faculty and coaches, primarily Pierce and Deree colleagues, recognized for their skills and knowledge, as well as their sensitive and caring approach to the children. The faculty and coaches are supported by camp counselors (a select group of Deree students) who help in the harmonious and safe operation of the program, supervising and escorting the children throughout the day at the Summer Camp.
MORNING ACTIVITIES (9:00 – 12:00)
The sports program in the morning aims at the development of the child’s athletic skills. Each child can participate in 2 of the following activities every week: basketball, volleyball, tennis, soccer, swimming, Tae Kwon Do, kids-Pilates, hip-hop and track & field.
RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES (12:00-12:45) – LUNCH (12:45-13:30)
In addition to the sports instruction, recreational activities such as archery, climbing, board games and ping-pong, are offered. Lunch is served at the Pierce restaurant right after. The menu is selected by the Camp nutritionist and is designed to meet the nutritional needs of the children with special emphasis on the selection of healthy and vitamin-rich foods.
AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES (13:30 – 17:00)
The afternoon program strives to develop competence in educational programs such as the English language and computers (basic skills, MS office, robotics, web design) according to skill level, while cultivating the child’s artistic and cultural skills through a variety of activities such as creative writing, painting, sculpture, comic art, magic art, drama, singing, and cooking. Each child can participate in 2 of the above-mentioned activities every week.
You are offered the option of bus transportation to and from the Summer Camp. Bus routes have been designed to accommodate, as best as possible, a variety of locations in Athens. The routes and stops are finalized once the minimum participation requirement has been met and are subject to change if needed.
Methods of payment: cash, credit card (cashier’s office at Deree Gym Reception) or bank deposit. Payment by credit card offers the option of up to six (6) installments.
