Student Conference - Coastal Tourism and Environmental Impacts

Our School is pleased to host a Student Conference titled "Coastal Tourism and Environmental Impacts" as part of the SEA SPIRIT educational program. The conference will take place on Wednesday, May 7, at the East Campus Multipurpose Hall. This event is funded by the European Union under the SHORE program.

The conference aims to present the research findings of the 6th-grade students, focusing on fostering environmental awareness and enhancing collaboration among school communities from coastal regions of Greece. Students from six primary schools around Greece will also participate: 1st Primary School of Agios Nikolaos, Ano Syros Primary School, Adamas Milos Primary School, Tilos Primary School, Rodion Paideia Educational Institutions from Rhodes, and Aftenergo from Argos. During the event, our school's 5th-grade students will perform a theatrical play related to the conference theme, adding a creative touch to the proceedings.

The event will be further enriched by contributions from representatives of the environmental organization WWF Greece and the Center of Excellence in Shipping, Logistics, & Energy at Deree – The American College of Greece, who will share their scientific insights, thereby enhancing the students' experience.
