Dr. E. Papoulia studied History in the History and Archaeology Department of the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Athens. She completed her post-graduate studies (MA., PhD.) at the Courtauld Institute of Art in the field of Art History. At the IB DP of Pierce – the American College of Greece, she teaches History – the course focusing on late 19th and 20th centuries Europe, while considering international developments concerning USA, China and Japan. Her research interests include how political developments influence culture, especially in authoritarian regimes and international diplomacy.
