Dimitra Kalligeri


BA in Classics (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens), MA in Classics (University College London), MA in Modern Greek Studies (King’s College London), certified in Special Educational Needs and Learning Difficulties (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens).

Dimitra Kalligeri has been a member of the PIERCE faculty since 2020. She has been teaching in secondary schools in Athens (Gymnasium, Lyceun, IGCSE, A’ Levels and IB) since 2001 and throughout her carrier she has attended a wide range of workshops and seminars -both in Greece and abroad- receiving enhanced training for the subjects she teaches. She has taught courses in the areas of Ancient Greek, Latin, Byzantine and Modern Greek Language, Literature and History.

Her research interests include the reception of Ancient Greek Poetry in Modern Greek Literature, as well as 21st century Modern Greek  prose. She currently serves as a teacher of Modern Greek Literature in the IB Department of PIERCE, where she also teaches the subjects of Isotimia (Modern Greek Language, Literature and History) to year 1 and 2 students.
