Library Services
The Pierce Library offers the following services:
- User training
- Lending
- Use of computers
User training
- At A Gymnasium, students are provided with computer education lessons aimed at developing essential skills in finding, organizing, evaluating, and utilizing information in any form – be it print, audio-visual, or electronic. These lessons are organized collaboratively with the librarian and the teacher, with the primary objective of teaching students the importance of citing bibliographic sources and creating bibliographies based on international models.
- At the start of every school year, students attend a 2-hour seminar that acquaints them with the organization, operation, and use of the Library. The Library is also utilized during some class hours to assist students in completing their projects. The teacher and the librarian work together to fulfill students’ information needs.
- Throughout the year, the Library provides sessions to help students become familiar with the online public access catalog and to locate information using multidisciplinary databases.
