Tour of the educational sailing boat of the Spanish Navy

Students of two C Gymnasium Spanish classes visited the Spanish Navy educational sailing ship “Juan Sebastian de Elcano” and were offered a tour by the crew. The educational field trip was realized following contact with the Cervantes Institute.

“Juan Sebastian de Elcano” was named after the Spanish explorer, who completed the first circumnavigation of the earth in the 16th century, after the death of Magellan. It is one of the largest traditional sailing vessels which continue to travel around the world. It is a magnificent sailing vessel, which belongs to the Spanish Navy and transfers sailors and Naval Academy Officers all over the world, and the visit comprised a unique experience for our students.
