The Racecar of Pierce at Athens Science Festival at Technopolis

On Thursday, October 12, the B Lyceum and IB1 students of Pierce, Myrsini Apostolou, Marios Koulouris, Dimitrios Balsis and Konstantinos Fragoulis participated in the Athens Science Festival at Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens, where they successfully presented the autonomous, racing car (Racecar) they had planned, as well as the Racecar Challenge competition, organized by our School. The Racecar Challenge is an educational program carried out in collaboration with the non-profit organization Learning Initiative and the MIT Club of Greece, based on the miniRACECAR program designed and offered by the Beaver Works Summer Institute (BWSI) of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

The Athens Science Festival 2023 was organised by the educational organisation “Science Communication – SciCo”, the British Council and Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens, in collaboration with a number of academic, research and educational organisations.

Our students had the opportunity to present their work to students from other schools and visitors to the Festival. They also toured the rest of the Festival exhibits and gained valuable experience. The participation of Pierce – The American College of Greece in the Athens Science Festival was an initiative of the Center of Excellence for Sustainability and was organized in collaboration with Deree.
