“Parent-centered vs. Child-centered Society” was the topic of the Webinar that was organized by the Pierce Parent Association, on Wednesday March 30th, by the speaker Dr. Thanos Askitis, neurologist, and psychiatrist.
The issues that were discussed were: How do we define the terms “child-centric” and “parent-centric” society? Who “rules” this home? Excessive permissiveness and overprotectiveness of the Greek family? What is the position of the child-centered parent today? What are the implications for the members of the child-centered family? What should the role of the parent be towards the child and sexual education for adolescents?
