S. Sue Horner, spouse of ACG president, has died

Dr. S. Sue Horner, Scholar in Residence and wife of the President of the American College of Greece, Dr. David G. Horner, passed away yesterday, April 10, at the age of 72, in Boston. She had been diagnosed with a brain tumor in February 2019.

Sue came to Greece with her husband in the summer of 2008 and will always be remembered for her bright blue eyes and her contagious smile, her warm personality and her intelligence. These were qualities that inspired and were profoundly appreciated by the entire College community, teachers, staff and students alike.

See the announcement here.

The memorial service will be held, when circumstances allow, at Old South Church in Boston, a church with historical bonds with the College and with the Horner family. Donations in her memory may be made to the “Dr. S. Sue Horner Lectureship in Gender Studies and Religion” of the American College of Greece at https://www.acg.edu/giving/how-to-make-a-gift/.

In honor of her contribution to ACG, the College flags will fly at half-mast for thirty days and, when circumstances allow, a memorial service will be held on the College campus.

May she rest in peace!
