Return to school, in-person classes (Lyceum, ΙΒ)

It is with particular joy and a high sense of responsibility that we welcome our Lyceum and IB students back to school on Monday, April 12th!

In this new phase of school operation, in which the Lyceum will operate with in-person classes while the Gymnasium continues distance learning, all required health safety and protection measures that were in place until November have been taken. In addition, the administration of the self-test twice a week by every student has been introduced. Information and instructions for the self-test, the submission of results and the issuance of the School Card/declaration of negative or positive result can be found at the link https://self-testing.gov.gr.

All students must have with them every day the School Card / Negative Result Declaration, and to show it to School authorities as well as to bus drivers as they board a school bus. Please note that any student that does not show this Declaration will not be allowed to enter the School campus or a school bus.

Apart from teachers, the entire staff of Pierce – The American College of Greece will also administer the self-test twice a week. Further information can be found in the Press release of the Ministry of Education. Also see updated instructions from the Ministry of Health on the proper use of the mask and Instructions from the Pierce Infirmary (ACG Health and Wellness Center).

Dear Parents,

We assure you that Pierce teachers will take on an increased role in supervising students in implementing all essential protective measures. However, the role of parents in stressing the personal responsibility of each student and in guiding your children to follow the regulations is very important. We ask for your help in safeguarding the health and education of our students. The successful management of the public health crisis in our school last autumn (very few cases – no spread within the community) fills us with strength and optimism.

With our wishes for a good return to our physical classroom! We hope public health conditions will soon be such that Gymnasium students can return to their school as well!
