Pierce – The American College of Greece Welcomes C. Logothetis, Founder and President of Libra Group

On Monday, May 27, Pierce’s B and C Gymnasium students had the opportunity to meet Mr. George Logothetis, Founder and President of the Libra Group, during an event held at the Pierce Theater. The event was organized by the College’s Office of Development and Alumni Affairs and was on the topic “Sailing to Success: insights by George M. Logothetis.” Our guest spoke with Mr. Alkiviadis Karyotis, a Libra Group Scholar and graduate student at Deree – The American College of Greece (MSc in Data Science).

Mr. Logothetis was welcomed by the President of the American College of Greece, Dr. David Horner, who stressed that such events inspire young people, as they highlight role models of hard work, perseverance, excellence and success for their future.

Mr. Logothetis shared his personal experiences and referred to the foundations that led him to his successful career. Not content with simply recounting achievements, he presented a shining example of leadership, proper guidance and hard work that leads to success in an area of global scope and complexity such as entrepreneurship.

The event concluded with students asking questions and a discussion with our guest. The children wondered what challenges anyone involved in business faces today, what strategies are needed to cope, how inspiration and education are linked to success and how personal and professional lives are balanced! Mr. Logothetis responded with practical advice and encouraged our students to follow their dreams, maintain their integrity and, why not? … to always have a good book as their guide!

Senior Vice President Ms Iliana Lazana, in her own greeting, thanked Mr. Logothetis and Mr. Karyotis for their valuable advice to our children and stressed the importance of education and knowledge, on the road to a successful and happy life!
