The students of Pierce’s B6 Gymnasium class were involved in inspiring community service: they donated raw materials for cooking (oil, tomato juice, spices, etc.) to the Municipality of Agia Paraskevi’s Soup Kitchen.
On Tuesday, March 14, Mrs. Vasiliki Siorou, Social Worker of the Structure, invited the children to the Town Hall of Aghia Paraskevi and informed them about the operation and necessity of the Soup Kitchen and other social structures, which have been organized by the Municipality. The Mayor of Aghia Paraskevi, Mr. Vassilis Zorbas, was also present and thanked the children for their contribution and spoke to them about the necessity of voluntary action in the difficult days we are going through, especially after the pandemic period.
After a constructive discussion, the Mayor also invited the children to visit the Cultural Centre “Stavros Kotsis”, which hosts a Shelter for Supported Living. At the Shelter, the students will have the opportunity to talk to people with disabilities who live and work there regarding their daily concerns and interests.
