Pierce Greek Forensics Tournament 2024 – results

From Friday, March 5th to Sunday, March 10th 2024, the Pierce 2024 Greek Forensics Tournament, organized by the Pierce Gymnasium and Lyceum – The American College of Greece, took place with great success. In this year’s 4th Games, students from 26 Gymnasiums and 28 Lyceums from Athens, Piraeus, Larissa, Patra, Heraklion, Chalkida, Tyrnavos and Andros took part.

The students who took part showed remarkable skills, handling the topics of the Speech competitions with rhetorical skill and ethos, while the performances in the Impromptu Speech and Debate competition were also commendable. It was acknowledged by everyone that all the participants, individually or as members of groups, gained a lot from this experience.

During the opening ceremony of the Forensics Tournament, outstanding individuals were honored for their contribution to the organization of the Panhellenic Forensics and the introduction and cultivation of Greek Rhetorical Art in Education: Mrs. Anastasia Paschalidou, Head of the Department of Studies & Program Implementation of the Directorate of Curriculum Studies and Organization of Secondary Education of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports and Mr. Pericles Spatoulas, Head of the Department of Public Relations, Promotion and Communication of the European Cultural Centre of Delphi and Head of Educational Programs.

In addition, Mr. Panagiotis Vassilopoulos, Philologist, Head of the Academic Department of Philologists and Mr. Panagiotis Polydoropoulos, Philologist, Head of the Hellenic Rhetorical Society and member of the Organizing Committee of the Competition, were honored for their contribution to the introduction and cultivation of Greek Rhetorical Art in our school, by establishing and operating the Hellenic Rhetorical Society since 2003, and by organizing the Pierce Greek Forensics Tournament.
