The parents of Pierce – The American College of Greece students had the opportunity to attend an online event – a talk on the subject “The latest medical developments on the pandemic and dealing with the psychological effects” on Monday, November 30 at 6:00 p.m.
The keynote speaker was Mr. Giannis Tountas, Professor of Social and Preventive Medicine at Athens University Medical School. He talked about the latest developments regarding the pandemic and vaccination, taking into consideration the general picture in Greece and the rest of the world. Pierce School Psychologist, Ms. Nektaria Glinou, presented the psychological effects of the pandemic on children and parents, focusing on prevention and dealing with these effects. The moderator of the discussion, on behalf of the Institute of Public Health of the American College of Greece, was Deputy Director of the Institute, Ms. Anna Tzortzi, Pulmonologist.
