Join us for an emergency blood drive! Wednesday-Friday, April 22-24

Join us for an emergency blood drive we organize in collaboration with EODY, for Paidon-Aglaia Kyriakou, Evangelismos and Agios Savvas Hospitals, Wednesday-Friday, April 22-24, 09:00-13:30, Deree Student Lounge.

Because ACG Cares!

This Spring, despite the extraordinary circumstances that we are all experiencing, we choose to continue the traditional ACG Community Service Day initiative, this time in support of the national efforts to replenish the dangerously low blood supplies of our nation’s hospitals. The American College of Greece has been granted a special permission by the Ministry of Education to open its facilities on the specific dates, for the members of our community who are willing and able to engage in this cause. We are inviting:

  • Pierce, Deree and Alba faculty and staff
  • Deree and Alba students
  • Pierce Parents
  • Pierce, Deree and Alba alumni

All precautionary measures, as directed by EODY (press release), will be taken during the blood drive to protect and safeguard your health as indicated for the COVID-19 pandemic. Please check out the process, make sure you are eligible at και and make an appointment through Eventora link.

Each volunteer will be able to register for a specific day and time slot and will be required to present the Eventora barcode received upon registration. Before you leave your home, please send an SMS to 13033, selecting B1. EODY advised us that B1 is also used for permission to leave your home for a blood donation. Giving blood normally takes about 30 minutes of your time. The blood drive will take place at the spacious Deree Student Lounge and the Deree Main Corridor will be used as a waiting area, avoiding any crowding. Parking will be allowed at the school’s premises. Masks, antiseptics and gloves will be provided, but please ensure that personal hygiene requirements are met.

If you are unable to join us at the College, we encourage you to support the efforts of the Coordination Center for Blood Vigilance and Supervision of Transfusions of EODY, the Attica Region, the Panhellenic Federation of Voluntary Blood Donor Associations and the “Oloi Mazi boroume” and give blood to the participating municipalities. You can find more information here. In this case, please make sure you just tell us about it by sending an e-mail with you name, school and status (faculty, staff, student, alumnus or parent) at so that we eventually know the total number of people that supported this initiative.
