Great victory for Pierce student and tennis scholarship recipient Thodoris Mitsakos in category 4 and category 5 at the ITF UNDER 18 Tournament, which took place in Cairo, Egypt.

Thodoris had especially significant victories, thus rising about 100 places in the world ranking. More specifically, he reached the semi-final at both tournaments, shutting out, among others, number 190 in the world ranking of under-18s (Youssef Sadek from Egypt) and number 211 (Ye Hongyu from China). He had an equally important success in the doubles, in which he and his partner Nicola Zekic succeeded in reaching the semi-final in the first tournament.
It is noteworthy that 17-year-old Thodoris, an athlete with the Deree Athletic Club for the last 5 years, has been named Panhellenic champion 5 times!
