German author discusses with Pierce students

Pierce’s German Language Department organized an event with the German children’s book author Dr. Annette Vosswinkel, who gladly accepted our invitation. The event was held on Friday, April 28 in the Auditorium and the A Gymnasium students talked with her and read, along with her, an excerpt from her book “Blauer Mond”, which they had been taught in their German literature classes. Afterwards, our students asked the author questions about her life and work, which she willingly answered. The program concluded with the signing of the children’s books by the author.

The event is part of the activities of the German Department, aiming to introduce students to German culture and civilization in a direct and authentic way. The event was a success, our students responded and participated actively and the author herself expressed very flattering comments about the high level of our students, their knowledge of German and their presence in general.
