Pierce Gymnasium students are hosting their classmates from the private school “Rudjer Boskovic” of Belgrade, as part of an educational exchange program. On Wednesday, November 14, the students of both schools visited the Presidential Palace, the sacred rock, as well as the Acropolis Museum.
Following a guided tour of the Presidential Palace, they met with the President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr. Prokopis Pavlopoulos, who welcomed them and talked about the traditionally good relations between our country and Serbia and Greece’s wish that our neighboring state will soon become a member of the European Union. The President also spoke warmly about Pierce, as in the past he was a member of the Administrative Council of the College, as well as the father of a graduate. He focused on the quality of the educational services and the opportunities that the College offers its students. The delegation to the Presidential Palace was accompanied by the Vice President of the American College of Greece, Ms. Claudia Carydi.
Next, the students visited the Acropolis Museum, about which they had prepared a tour and related projects, which they presented to their classmates from Belgrade. The first day of the visit ended with a visit to the sacred rock of the Acropolis.
On Thursday, November 15, there was a guided tour of the College campus and a visit to the Presidential Guard. Then the students attended an educational program at School.
