The long tradition of excellence in Mathematics competitions (“Thales”, “Euclid” and National Mathematical Olympiad “Archimedes”) continues for Pierce Gymnasium and Lyceum students, with more and more students achieving awards and distinctions!
This academic year, two Pierce students excelled in the 41st National Mathematical Olympiad “Archimedes”, having succeeded in all previous competition phases:
- Dimitrios Dimopoulos (C Gymnasium), 5th place (2nd Prize) in the Gymnasium category
- Lymperis – Georgios Karras (C Lyceum), 26th place (3rd prize) in the Lyceum category.
Successful candidates in “Euclid” Gymnasium:
- B Gymnasium: Alkinoos Anastasopoulos, Maria – Nefeli Antonogeorgou, Antonios Vlachakis, Agapi – Maria Demopoulou, Despina Zafeiropoulou, Georgios Ieromonachos, Eleni Kanteraki, Georgios Megalos, Leonidas Tsitsas and Myrtidiotissa – Aikaterini Christodoulou.
- C Gymnasium: Georgios Konstas, Dimitrios Morphopoulos, Dimitrios Betziora, Orpheus Savvaidis and Pericles Tsitimakis.
Successful candidates in “Euclid” Lyceum:
- A Lyceum: Vassilios Aggelopoulos and Apostolos Kontarinis
- B Lyceum: Myrto Loukeri
- C Lyceum: Markos Radaios and Konstantinos Christakos
The Preliminary Competition for the selection of the teams will take place on Saturday, April 6, 2024 and the award ceremony for the students who excelled in Archimedes will take place on Sunday, April 7, 2024.
