A group of 35 students from Pierce Gymnasium, Lyceum and IB took part in the 17th Costea-Geitona Schools Model United Nations (CGSMUN) Student Conference, from 16 to 18 December 2022. The students worked in committees, with students from all over Greece and other countries. After constructive dialogue, they came up with decisions aimed at solving global problems.
The greatest distinction at the conference was achieved by IB2 student, Christoforos Foteinelis, who chaired the conference as Deputy Secretary General of the Secretariat, while 9 more students had the honor of being Student Officers, a position they occupied after a demanding selection process: Eleni Ioannou, Evangelia Giannopoulou, Katerina Livaniou, Alexios Gkaintasov, Foivos Chrysafidis, Vasiliki Kalogeropoulou, Marilia Giannakaki, Stefania Triantafyllou, Marios Pasoglou.
After a vote of the participants, at the end of the conference, the student Lambros Katsieris was voted as the best advocate of the committee International Court of Justice (ICJ) in which he participated, and Eleonora Strobouli won an Honorable Mention for her participation in the Security Council).
