On Sunday, June 26th, at the Track and Field facilities of the American College of Greece, the 254 graduates of C Lyceum and IB2 bade farewell to school life and their teachers and spread their wings as they are off to University, either in Greece or abroad, taking their first step in the direction of a successful career.
The President of The American College of Greece, Dr. David G. Horner welcomed the guests to the Graduation Ceremony, Commencement 2022 and presented the awards and High School Diplomas to the graduates.
The Commencement Speaker was Maria Iliou, Pierce graduate, Class of 1978, director, scriptwriter, and producer. Ms. Iliou began her speech with Kavafy’s “Ithaka,” remembered her school years and emphasized the value of helping our fellow human beings, and the contribution of tomorrow’s citizens to the creation of a better future.

Valedictorian (With Grade Point Average 19.8 over the three years of Lyceum): Eleni Amarantidi, Antonios Mandilaras, Maria – Panagiota Berketi, Athanasios Nikolaos Stamou

The Graduation Commencement 2022, as in the previous years, was a “green” festive event, oriented towards sustainability. No printed material was used and the guests were kindly requested to use their own reusable water bottle, while all kinds of smoking was forbidden in all the areas of the campus.
In addition, all the alumni signed the “ACG Graduation Sustainability Pledge” and wore the green ribbon “ACG Cares” on their graduation gowns, symbolizing their commitment to the promotion of sustainability in their adult life, acting as dedicated and responsible citizens and professionals, in order to help create and maintain a world that is developing in a sustainable way.
