Angelos – Dionysios Debonos, a C Lyceum Pierce student took 1st place in the Economics Olympiad (KEFIM – Bank of Greece). The final round and the Award Ceremony took place on Saturday, June 15, at the American College of Greece.
Angelos will receive a cash prize and will be the first member of the 5-member national team that will represent our country in the International Final, which will take place this September, in Ancient Olympia. Two more of our students made it to the top ten:
- 7th place: Jacqueline Molcho
- 10th place: Panagiotis Bouloutas
The other Pierce students who participated in the final were: Athanasia Seinti (26th), Marios Pasoglou (36th), Kassandra Andreou (38th) and Konstantinos Kourdis (41st).
The guests were welcomed to the Award Ceremony by the Senior Vice President of Administration and Pierce, Ms. Iliana Lazana, on behalf of the American College of Greece, who presented an Award. The other official guests, who addressed the audience and presented awards, were:
- Kostis Hatzidakis, Minister of National Economy and Finance
- Konstantinos Bitros, CEO Invention Consulting & Gold Sponsor of the Olympiad.
- Theodoros Mitrakos, Former Deputy Director of the Bank of Greece
- Spyridon Doukakis, President of IEP
- Sofia Takaoglou, President of EOEDE
