5th Student Competition in Ancient Greek Language

Pierce – The American College of Greece, announces the 5th Student Competition in Ancient Greek Language and Literature, under the auspices of the Ministry of Education.

The aim of the competition is to compel students to study Ancient Greek Language and Literature and to acquaint them with more works of Ancient Greek Literature, so they can conceive the timelessness of the meanings and values and realize that Modern Greek has its roots in Ancient Greek and comprises its development and continuation.

In addition, another goal is for students to understand that the intellectual creation of the Ancient Greeks is inextricably interwoven in the Modern Greek civilization and that it contributed to setting the foundations of the European and Western Civilization in general.

The competition will be held on Saturday, April 9thand it is addressed to A Lyceum students of General Lyceums, both public and private, in the prefecture of Attiki. Participation is optional and parental – guardian consent is required. There is no participation fee.
