4th ACGMUN successfully completed, online this year!

With great success despite the special circumstances, the 4th ACGMUN (Model United Nations) took place online, March 19-21, 2021. At the student conference, whose theme this year was “Global Unity,” there were student-participants from 27 schools, four of which were from abroad (Turkey, Bulgaria, India and South Africa).

The Pierce Organizing Team, the Secretary General, headed by Lyceum students Theodoris Iakovou and Ioulianos Kotsios, as well as the head of the General Assembly Anatastasis Lambrianos-Stappas, worked feverishly to prepare a flawless conference, in terms of both organization and content.

Pierce students took part in 14 committees and the following students were awarded distinctions: Anna Panteliadi (GA4), Margarita Mitropoulou (GA6), Modesti-Eleni Markou (WHO), Eleni Ioannou (ILO), Iliana Mavroeidi (ILO), Maria-Panagiota Berketi (Security Council) and Maria-Ioanna Varotsi (ECOSOC).

At the Opening Ceremony, we were honored with the presence of Ms. Maria Theofili, Permanent Representative of Greece at the United Nations and Mr. Brian Breuhaus, Diplomat, official at the American Embassy in Greece, responsible for immigration, asylum and human rights.

English teachers Ms. Christina Katsouli, Veralisa Miliaresi and Christina Varveri were the Faculty Advisors.
