On the afternoon of Sunday, February 28, the 1st online chess tournament for Pierce students and teachers took place. Approximately 80 members of the school community, with more or less chess experience, enjoyed “getting away” from their daily routines for a while and having fun, competing against and talking with each other, “moving” through the 64 black and white squares of this exciting chess game.
The tournament was the first in a series of matches that will take place every week among members of the Pierce community. The final aim is the creation of a chess team that will represent the school at Panhellenic Student Competitions.
The next match is expected to be exciting!
