Athletic Distinction Scholarships

Pierce – The American College of Greece, a school with a tradition in physical education and training its students, supports young men and women with special abilities in athletics.

In this context, for the upcoming academic year, Pierce is offering up to twenty (20) athletic scholarships, which cover 10% of tuition fees. These scholarships are meant for Pierce Gymnasium and Lyceum students who have achieved athletic distinctions in:

  • Olympic Games or World championships (1st to 6th place),
  • European or Panhellenic championship (1st to 3rd place),
  • Official competition in Greece, sponsored by the corresponding federation in ages where there is no Panhellenic championship (1st to 3rd place in National ranking),
  • Or, are members of the National Team (participation in official competition/game is mandatory),
  • Or, have achieved a National record.

Priority will be given to Olympic Games sports.

The scholarships are awarded for one (1) academic year, with the obligation to participate in all school athletics events and teams.
Scholarships recipients can apply for following years, provided that they have similar distinctions. Applications are then re-evaluated, along with any new applications that have been submitted.

Candidates must complete and send the relevant application form (Application for Athletic Scholarship) to the email address claskari@acg.edu, along with certification of their participation in the National Team and the distinctions they have achieved from their Federation.

The application is confidential and will be evaluated by the members of the athletic scholarship committee. Candidates may be invited to take part in an interview with the members of the committee and their decision is final and cannot be appealed.

Applications for Athletic Distinction scholarships for the upcoming academic year can be submitted from September 1st till September 20th, and concern distinctions that took place from September 1 till August 31 of the immediately preceding period.
