Welcome reception for new Pierce Gymnasium students

The Gymnasium Student Council of Pierce – The American College of Greece is organizing a welcome reception for A Gymnasium students as well as new students of B and C Gymnasium.

The event will take place on Thursday, September 5,  2019 at 6:30 p.m. in the Pierce Theater, where our new students and their Parents will the President of the College, the Pierce Principal and members of the Gymnasium Directorate. Students will also meet their Faculty Class Advisors and their classmates and will then be taken on a tour of the School. The tour will end in the classrooms, where they will receive an envelope containing useful information.

While the students are in their classrooms with their Teachers (7:30 – 8:30 p.m.), our School Psychologist, Dr. Nektaria Glinou, will inform parents on “The Smooth Transition to a New Educational Environment” in the Theater.

We ask that our students arrive at School by 6:15 p.m. at the latest.

We believe that meetings such as this one contribute decisively to facilitating new students’ best possible adjustment to the school community and we look forward to welcoming you, students and parents, to the College family.

Reception and Information Session for Parents of Gymnasium students

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Meaningful and ongoing cooperation and communication with Parents and Guardians is one of the most important components of the high-quality education offered by Pierce.  Information sessions with Parents contribute decisively to the progress and academic development of our students, establish a sense of trust between us, and deter and deal with issues of attendance and behavior which might arise.

In this context, we invite you to meet with the Administration and Directors of Pierce Gymnasium according to the following schedule, by class:

•    Information session with Parents of A Gymnasium students: Monday, September 16
•    Information session with Parents of B Gymnasium students: Wednesday, September 18
•    Information session with Parents of C Gymnasium students: Monday, September 23

These meetings will take place from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Pierce Theater and on-campus parking will be available. Because of the importance of the matters to be discussed and our common interest in the progress of our students, your attendance is considered essential.
