Curriculum Overview

The STEM program of studies – a combination of academic work, laboratories, and outdoor activities – aims to strengthen the participants’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as their capacity for innovation, independence, and digital literacy.

The STEM modules stimulate the students in scientific issues, helping them understand the varied roles science plays in our society, while developing knowledge and skills. Students will be involved in STEM education topics, and they will: carry out data analysis; explain the results; discuss STEM ethics and diversity; cover robotics and engineering topics; and design three dimensional objects using 3D printers.

Through the science workshops, students will have the chance to improve skills, learn how technology has evolved and explore new career paths. The students will visit laboratories, institutes, museums, and organizations involved in STEM activities, in order to carry out research projects that require group-work and creativity, thus undertaking responsibilities that help them acquire knowledge and abilities in all branches of science.

Finally, students will participate in activities that enhance their communication skills, help them accept thoughtful risks, engage in experimental learning, and realize how science, technology, engineering, and mathematics must be applied in social, artistic, and psychological dimensions. Through art practices, role-playing, leadership games, debates, and social change discussions, students will be able to connect STEM areas with social responsibility controversies.
